Introduction

The department of chemistry provides a stimulating environment for research, teaching and learning with highly qualified PhD and M.Phil faculty members. Chemistry powers many aspects of our lives, from the clean water we drink to the air we breathe. It is a vibrant and stimulating subject that has a huge impact on the world around us. The Department commenced two years M.Sc. programme and also planning to start BS, M. Phil. and Ph.D. Programme in future. The department provide training in four mainstream areas of chemistry i.e., biochemistry, inorganic, organic and physical chemistry. The graduates can expect to develop their careers in the pharmaceutical and food industries, analytical and environmental laboratories, public and regulatory utilities, industrial laboratories and academic and research organizations. The chemical and pharmaceuticals industry is central to the modern world economy and plays a vital role in the creation of ground-breaking products.
