Computer Sciences & Information Technology

Initially, the Center for Computer Sciences and IT was established in Faculty of Agriculture Rawalakot to initiate BS(CS)-4 years degree program. The Project was funded by Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST) under the scheme "Establishment of Center for Computer Sciences and Information Technology at Rawalakot and Kotli". The Center produced BS(CS) graduates to cater the national market requirements for techno industry and also contributed in human resource development through embracing the local youth with latest computing knowledge. During the short span of time since the inception of Center for CS & IT at Faculty of Agriculture Rawalakot, it has achieved considerable progress and emerged as a sound department of faculty of Basic & Applied Sciences under the umbrella of The University of Poonch, Rawalakot. The Department of Computer Sciences and IT (DCSIT) offers three degree programs BS(CS),BS(SE) and MCS. The degree programs focus on theoretical Computer Science as well as Software Application development. National Computing Education and Accreditation Council (NCEAC) has accredited BS(CS) and BS(SE) degree programs.
